Capital Projects
SOCWA is currently working on the following projects to provide reliable wastewater service for South Orange County:

Coastal Treatment Plant Headworks Upgrade: This construction project includes modification of the return activated sludge pumping control system, replacement of the rotary drum screens, and interior improvements to the screening/grit handling building. Upon completion, SOCWA will be able to provide greater service reliability to customers in the western portion of our service area.  
Anticipated completion date:  Summer, 2011

Regional Treatment Plant Clarifier Upgrade Phase I: The project includes the retrofit of six existing primary sedimentation basins and two secondary sedimentation basins, and construction of a new stand-by raw wastewater pump station. Upon completion, SOCWA will be able to provide greater service reliability to customers in the western portion of our service area.   
Anticipated completion date:  Summer, 2011

J. B. Latham Treatment Plant Upgrades: This project includes the structural rehabilitation of Digester No.3, the replacement of a bar screen in the West Plant headworks, and miscellaneous structural and site improvements. Upon completion, SOCWA will be able to provide greater service reliability to customers in the southern portion of our service area.
Anticipated completion date:  Spring, 2011
