SOCWA’s Industrial Waste Management Program empowers industrial users to be proactive about their wastewater and help protect the environment and sewer systems. This practice, called pretreatment, helps industrial users remove pollutants from their wastewater before discharging into the public sewer system.
SOCWA’s program is a local component of the National Pretreatment Program, a cooperative effort of federal, state and local agencies to implement this practice on a nationwide basis. The program ensures that industrial development vital to the economic well being of our communities will be active participants in protecting our healthy environment.
